South Pittsburg High School
Class of 1957 Reunion
Donates to Princess Theatre
South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society

The South Pittsburg High School Class of 1957 reunion made a memorial donation of $500.00 to the Princess Theatre project during the South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society's monthly meeting Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007. Pictured left is Mary Hunter and Carl Case on right, both with the 1957 class, handing the check to Joe Goeller (center) who is the Society's co-chairman and Princess Theatre project manager.
According to Mrs. Hunter, "The Princess Theatre was the center of their social life in South Pittsburg growing up." It is for this reason that they made the donation in hopes that the old theater will once again be a place for both the young and old to enjoy, she said.
The donation was made in honor of the deceased members of the 1957 class listed below:
Rose Cline Castle
Ann Durham Barnes
Elizabeth Ingram
Robert Elledge
James Kelly
Thomas Johnson
Jackie Peoples
According to Case and Hunter, they (1957 class) are issuing a challenge to all graduating classes of South Pittsburg High School to match their donation and help restore the Princess Theatre.
The South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society would like to thank Mr. Case and Mrs. Hunter and all members of the Class of 1957 for their donation. This donation moves us ever closer to completing the Princess Theatre.
