Princess Theatre Receives $50,000 Grant

A $50,000 Community Enhancement Grant through the Secretary of State was presented to the South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society on Monday, February 4, 2008 for the restoration of the Princess Theatre. From left to right are: State Representative Bill Harmon, State Senator Andy Berke who presented the check, SPHPS Chairman Bob Hookey who accepted the check and South Pittsburg Mayor Mike Killian Due to forecasted wet weather, the presentation was held in the South Pittsburg Senior Center on Elm Avenue instead of in front of the theater as was originally planned. The SPHPS members are greatful to Sen. Berke and Rep. Harmon for their assistance in the Princess Theatre receiving this grant.
