The Opera House (built 1909) on Cedar Avenue as it appeared in 2002. Actress, Jobyna Ralston, gave her first stage performance at age nine here on August 31, 1909 and Booker T. Washington, famous African-American lecturer, gave a lecture here on November 20, 1909.

Dated 1887 the Old First National Bank building is located at the corner of Elm Avenue and 3rd Street. Pictured above on January 2, 2005, today it is home to the South Pittsburg City Hall.

Pictured above in May 2004, is Cedar Avenue in downtown South Pittsburg looking towards 2nd Street.  
Pictured above left on January 2, 2005, is the "Dixie Freeze" restaurant. A landmark of South Pittsburg since the 1950s, it is located at the corner of Elm Avenue and 2nd Street. The picture on the right was taken in the evening hours of January 17, 2005.  
South Pittsburg Post Office at the corner of Elm Avenue and 3rd Street as it appeared on January 2, 2005. The post office has been located in this building since 1935.
The Shelby Rhinehart bridge across the Tennessee River at South Pittsburg is pictured above in May 2004. It was constructed in 1982 and replaced the old ferry that had operated near this location for more than fifty years.
